Amplify is the new website that English teachers at Cavitt, Olympus, and the sixth grade classes are using this year. English teachers are trying to use it to teach one story per trimester.

The website Amplify offers stories to read. The stories come with different activities such as vocabulary games, class discussion, analyzing the scene, and a few others like a solo part.

Last year the school used Holt Literature Series. Mr. Wilson, a seventh grade core teacher, said that he prefers Holt instead of Amplify because of its collection of stories.

Amplify also has a function that the teacher can use called “eyes up,” which puts a blank screen on the computer so that the students focus on the teacher while talking. Mr. Wilson also said that he likes what Amplify provides on the website but he teaches these lessons in other ways.

Mrs. Randall, an eighth grade English teacher, said that she used her own curriculum before Amplify. She also said that she likes using Amplify but she also enjoyed using her own stories.
